Finger of Hercules
When we returned to Johnson Valley we brought our list of "Sites to See". The first on the list was the "Finger of Hercules". Here is a picture of what we would be looking for (not my picture!!):
The rock is one that rock climbers like to ... climb. ha. It's 70 feet tall and gives an amazing view of the whole valley. Unfortunately, about 2/3 mile from our destination we came up against a locked, razor wired fence. :\
Boo!
But we did get some pictures overlooking the area. Here's one.
And our Explorer-mobile. That's me inside.
From here we went back to Camp Rock Road to go back Cinder Pit Mine and then to find the petroglyphs in the Rodman Mountains.
I am not sure how I am going to present this part of our trip. We took several hundred pictures - all of which I am compelled to post. I think I got pictures of just about every petroglyph ha ha. Ok, not - but I got a lot of them. They are all worthy of a look. So I will think on this for a day or two and then try to put something up. In the meantime, I will post one or two each day.
