Tuesday - September 26, 2000
Khiori was very tired in the evening. Pottied dogs at 1 am. Khiori crawled into our bed and stayed longer than usual. Eyes sagging and glassy.

Wednesday - September 27, 2000
4:03A : Woke to sounds similar to earthquake. Khiori in grand mal seizure. Turned on dim light. Sean put Khiori is a safer position. Removed Solo from the room, contained him upstairs.

4:08A : Returned to room. Khiori still kicking violently, jaws clenched, neck held stiff (not moving head much), no barking, didn't urinate.

4:11A : Khiori sits up dazed, eyes wide, ears held high but unmoving. No panting - mouth shut. Lots of foaming & salivation. Very bewildered, jumpy, trying to orient herself. We try to comfort vocally only - slight response. Khiori gets a panicked look & almost goes into seizure. More encourgaing by us softly. Doesn't recognize us. Room quiet and dim.

4:27A : Grand Mal. Khiori melts to floor and again goes into Grand mal. Kicking (paddling), foaming, barking. (I leave the room at this point to attempt to find a vet. This takes me about an hour - sometimes I'm able to return to room to help with Khiori while trying to think of who else to call)

4:29A : Seizure ends. Khiori sits up. Sean talks to her in quiet voice. I enter room and notice foul smell from Khiori's foaming.

4:31-4:32A : Grand Mal. Khiori melts to floor; kicking, no barking

4:36A : Grand Mal. Kicking, barking. About 30 seconds long.

4:37A : Grand mal seizure.

4:40A : Grand mal seizure.

4:43A : Grand mal seizure.

4:49A : Grand mal seizure.

4:54A : Grand mal seizure. Begin post ictal. Lasting for about 30 minutes. Khiori sat up, looked around the room and foamed. Sean talking to her quietly during this time.

~5:30A : Khiori recognizes Sean. (post ictal ended) Does happy dance. I enter room. Khiori frightened at first but then recognizes me and does happy dance. Drinks some water, but not a lot.

5:40A : Reintroduce Solo (who was frantic). Dogs briefly sniff each other. Solo goes to check out seizure site.

5:45A : Khiori VERY hungry. Feed dogs about 1/2 normal amt. Khiori given 10mg of diazepam.

6:00A : Notice partial seizure beginning. Give an additional 10mg diazepam.

6:00-8:00A : Khiori still very hungry. Feed again. Tired, hungry. Rear legs uncoordinated (probably due to extertion) Naps, looks for food, naps...

Throughout the day: Khiori tired, hungry, zoned out. A bit uncoordinated early but corrected by afternoon. Didn't get lost in the house. No "accidents." Clingy. Fed about 2x's normal amt. Made appointment to see our vet.
