4. Old Erosional Level


We found this stop to be very interesting due to the graphic example on the road side. If you look at the erosion pattern on the boulders, you can see a low horizontal line. The top part was during a wetter climate with stable soil supporting many plants. A dryer climate led to rapid erosion and sparse plants. You can see how quickly the soil level dropped creating the interesting erosion lines.
